JAMB 2022 REGISTRATION PROCESS. Have you been waiting for the 2022 JAMB UTME Examination registration to begin? The time has finally come! The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has invited suitably qualified candidates for admission to tertiary institutions in Nigeria for the 2022/2023 admission session.
The period of registration for all candidates including those from foreign countries starts from 19th February 2022. The registration period and PIN vending will continue till 26th March 2022.

To start with, let us look at the amount it will cost you for the entire registration and the kits that comes with the registration.
JAMB 2022 REGISTRATION FEE
For the 2022 UTME, candidates are required to pay a total sum of Four Thousand Two Hundred (#4700.00) Naira only. This sum of money is for the following:
- The sum is the #700 naira charged for CBT centre service charges which will be paid to the CBT centre by the board,
- The sum of Three Thousand Five Hundred (#3500) Naira for registration fee and
- The #500.00 for the reading text ‘The Life Changer’ by Khadja Abubakar Jali which is for every candidate.
$20 is the sum for candidates from the eight foreign centres.
After the payment of the sum of #4,700.00, candidates are expected to get a Compact Disc (CD) containing JAMB syllabus, ebrochure and other vital material that will be given free to every registered candidate. Candidates should note the following:
- ePIN purchase is tied to individual profile and are not transferrable and also
- Candidates are advised to keep as private and confidential their security details such as registration number, password/numbers of ATM cards, email addresses and ePIN. No centre is allowed to request for or accept a candidate’s password.
Candidates eligible to register for the examination should read further to know the “new” registration process approved by the board for the 2022 JAMB UTME examination.
2022 JAMB UTME REGISTRATION PROCESS
Furthermore, to register for the 2022/2023 JAMB UTME examinations, candidates must meet some “general requirements” as specified by the board. Thereafter, they can follow the steps below to successfully register for the examination:
STEP 1: CREATION OF PROFILE
Are you a prospective candidate? The you are required to register a new and unique phone (mobile) number SIM for the process of registration, the unique phone number can only be used by one (1) candidate only, and this number must not have been used by another person to register for UTME/DE in the past. The number will remain a unique identification for all your transactions with JAMB.
Candidates will then send ‘NIN” by text (SMS) to either 55019 or 66019 from that personal GSM number. Note there will be a space between “NIN” and the 11-digit NIN number. For example, send NIN 32548906753 as a text message to 55019 or 66019. Once sent, a text message containing a profile code of 10 characters will be received by that number. This shows that the phone number is automatically tied to the candidate’s name and will be used in all communications relating to such candidates’ 2022 applications, examinations, and admission.
Two things you must take note of and always remember after this first stage of registration. The mobile phone number and the 10- character digit profile code. This will be required to further your registration.
STEP 2: PRESENT THE PROFILE CODE
Present this 10-character profile code and their GSM mobile number to any accredited Banks, Micro Finance Banks (MFB’s), switches, USSD partners, which is the point of purchase of the application documents. After payment, the ePIN will be sent as text message to the candidate’s phone number.
STEP 3: BIOMETRIC CAPTURING
Candidates will finally present to any JAMB accredited CBT centre for registration and capturing, the profile code and the ePIN received as text message from the Bank.
The application cannot be complete until the candidate’s biometrics (all ten fingers) are captured and photograph taken physically (No submission of passport photograph). Successful capture of biometrics and photograph will authorize a candidate to print his/her e-registration slip. Candidates must note that the fingerprint shall be required for any further transaction with JAMB on the candidate’s profile.
As a candidate, you must please note that only candidates whose biometric verification is successful will be allowed to sit for the UTME examination. Therefore, no parent or any proxy is allowed to make any transaction on the candidate’s profile. Hence, candidates with biometric challenge can only register at JAMB Headquarters in Abuja. Arrangements should be made for the registration of such candidate through JAMB state offices.
