JAMB new reading texts for 2022 onward. This information is for all candidates who wish to apply for the 2022 UTME examination that will be organised by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). JAMB recently announced a change in the reading texts for all language subjects (Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, and Arabic), and literature – in – English.
These changes will take effect from the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This means that candidates will be asked questions from these reading texts in the 2022 JAMB UTME examination. Are you a candidate preparing for the 2022 UTME JAMB examination? You are advised to get these texts as you begin your preparing for the 2022 UTME.
The newly introduced reading texts for Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Arabic and Literature – in – English are highlighted in the following list below. The first is the text for Literature – in – English:

- Lion and the Jewel by Wole Soyinka;
- Look back in Anger by John Osborne;
- Second class Citizen by Buchi Emecheta;
- Wuthering Heights by Emile Bronte;
- Unexpected Joy at Dawn by Alex Agyei Agyiri.
