NECO ANNOUNCES DATE FOR THE RELEASE OF 2021 EXAMINATION RESULTS

The registrar and chief executive officer of the National Examination Council (NECO), Prof. Ibrahim Wushishi has promised about 1,3 million candidates writing the ongoing NECO Senior Secondary School Examination (SSCE) to expect their results in three weeks.

Prof. Wushishi said this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday in Yola, Adamawa state. This visit was to monitor the conduct of the ongoing NECO SSCE examination nationwide. During the visit, Prof. Wushishi said

As soon as we finish the exams, we are going into marking, so, it may be two, three weeks, we expect to finish marking and the results will be ready

From his statement, 3rd of September is three weeks from now. Hence, according to the NECO boss, the neco results will be out on or before 3rd September 2021. So candidates who sat for the 2020/2021 NECO Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination should expect their neco results on this date.

He recalled that in 2020, about 1.1 million candidates sat for the examination, adding that the increment of the number of students this year, was a testimony of the recognition of the NECO examinations.

Prof. Wushishi further revealed the plans to make the objective component of the examination computer based. Stating further that the examination body had put in place mechanisms to protect the integrity and standard of the examination as well as to check activities of saboteurs and other exams criminals.

Conclusively, he said the Council had introduced certain innovations to eliminate malpractice and forgery. As well as achieve a world class examination standard.

Among the schools visited during the monitoring visit to Yola were Federal Government Girls College and Aliyu Mustapha College.
